I can't even begin to understand that. I get T-shirt why people didn't want to vote for Clinton in 2016 (the factual reasons and the others). But the actual embrace of Trump is only explainable by ignoring most of the details.

Yes, he has, but there must be some hidden passage in the Bible that I am not worthy of reading that says "thou shalt not vote for a Democrat". I mean literally, the blinders come up and they don't actually care who is in office as long as the ballot is red. He also just saved his own ass using an experimental vaccine with a history of stem cell research from aborted fetuses. The same research he has attempted to defund to appease his evangelical base. Now he praises that vaccine. Kinda blatantly contradictory.

Rush Limbaugh and Fox News have spent DECADES brainwashing the Right that Liberals are not only bad, but they are evil and are actively trying to destroy the nation. The "left" has started the War On Christmas, actively smuggles in millions of illegal alien drug-dealing rapists every year, and falsified the records of a secret Kenyan Muslim so he could be President of the United States with the sole purpose of repealing the 2nd Amendment and allowing Israel to be destroyed. Last week I went to help my brother fix his car. I had never really talked about politics with him, we aren’t super close and it just isn’t something we talk about. Well while fixing his car I made a random fast and furious reference and he went off the fucking deep end about Dwayne Johnson endorsing Biden, calling Biden a pedophile and rapist, etc. I just changed the subject as quickly as I could. Caught me totally off guard.

I am in a group of motorcycle riders, and one person posted a doctored image of Trump doing a wheelie with the tag 'glad the president's doing well'. There were a few responses, but one specifically asking to remove politics from the group. I responded with 'I see this as a bipartisan win-win: reps can praise their god-king and dems can imagine him doing a backflip he'll never wake up from. Either way, win-win!'
